At Open Door Community Church...
We preach Christ and Him crucified in each and every sermon and omit none of His inerrant Word.
We support one another in Christian growth and to impact our community for Christ.
We hold to traditional Baptist doctrines, confessions, and traditions, and we partner with American Baptist Churches of IN/KY.
We gather together as commanded in the Word to worship our holy and sovereign God on Sunday mornings.
We pray to our holy and loving God knowing that He hears us and that He responds to His people according to His will.
We sing Christ-centered, doctrinally sound music that glorifies our Lord in every verse.
We educate and equip our adults with the Word and sound, biblical theology in our adult Sunday School.
We teach our church's children who Jesus Christ is, what it means to know Christ, and to make Him known.
We encourage one another to live lives that glorify Christ and bring honor to His name.
We generously and willingly give what we have to the church for the purpose of gospel proclamation, whether that is our time, talents, services, or income.
We regularly remember and celebrate the victory over sin and death that we have in Christ’s death and resurrection through Communion.
We baptize those who have repented of their sins and have trusted Jesus as their Lord and Savior.
We believe...
The Bible is the inspired, infallible, authoritative, and completely sufficient Word of God.
The Bible teaches there is one true God eternally existing in three co-equal, co-eternal, yet distinct persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
The Bible teaches the deity of Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, His sinless life, His vicarious death, His physical resurrection, His ascension, and His anticipated return.
The Bible teaches us that the Holy Spirit indwells those who have placed their faith in Christ, and that the Holy Spirit empowers God’s people to live holy lives, convicts them of sin, and continually sanctifies them.
The Bible teaches that every member of mankind is dead in their sinful condition, and their only hope is the gospel of Jesus Christ.
That people are saved by grace through faith and not of their own works or merit, and that the believer’s new life in Christ cannot be lost.
That the Bible teaches that all those who have trusted in Christ for their salvation have been called to live a life devoted to Christ and devoted to reaching those who do not know Christ as Lord.
That those who have not repented of their sins and trusted Jesus Christ as their Lord will not inherit eternal life, but will face an eternal life suffering in hell.
That, through Christ, our hope is not only in this life, but in an eternal life to come, and that Christ will one day return for His people.
